Pantry Doors

While some may not consider it a luxury, having a walk-in pantry in your kitchen really is just that.  Pantries provide extra space for storing food and other dry goods, and even some fruits and vegetables.  They free up valuable counter and cabinet space so you can utilize those areas for other purposes.  In addition to their usefulness, pantries can also be an attractive addition to your kitchen, especially when it comes to the door that you choose.

There are many pantry door options available, ranging from very simple to detailed and elegant.  If you want something very basic, you could opt for a plain wood door and stain or paint it to match the rest of your décor.  If you prefer something with glass, you have a lot of choices as well.  A lot of people like the frosted glass look, which is nice because it doesn’t allow you to see inside the actual pantry and these doors usually come with some sort of design, picture, or pattern on the glass.  However, there are also plenty of clear glass options available, as well as wood and glass doors.

When installing pantry doors, you can either hire a professional for the job, or you can do it yourself.  If you hire a pro, of course you have the peace of mind of knowing that the job will be done quickly, correctly, and efficiently, but you will probably have to spend at least a couple hundred dollars in installation fees.  Doing it yourself is a lot more cost-effective, but you’ll have to put forth some time and effort to properly hang the door.  If you’re a fairly handy person, this shouldn’t be a problem, and even if you’re not, you can find step-by-step instructions online that can help you get the job done.

Like any other door in your home, your pantry door can add a certain look and feel to a room.  You can choose a door that fits in perfectly with your other doors and trim, or you can go for something a little different to set it apart.
