Sun Mountain Custom Doors celebrates its 25th anniversary this year and, to mark this important milestone, the company held a special event on the last day of March.
Staff from around the country joined the Colorado team for an afternoon of food, music, and camaraderie. One of the day’s highlights was acknowledgement of employees’ service anniversaries, with many receiving recognition for tenures ranging from five to twenty-five years.
Sun Mountain was founded in 1998 as a distributor, pre-hanger, and pre-finisher of wood doors and mouldings, serving luxury homes in Colorado. Growing demand placed pressure on Sun Mountain’s door suppliers leading to the company’s vertical integration into door manufacturing in 2003. Production operations expanded over time—from the 30,000 square foot factory at the company’s founding, to the 105,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility in operation today.
While the company serves the entire country, further expansion has included the establishment of field sales and showrooms in seven states: Asheville, NC (2008); San Francisco, CA (2013); Park City, UT (2014); Scottsdale, AZ (2015); Denver, CO (2018); Naples, FL (2020); and Santa Fe, NM (2021). Sun Mountain’s headquarters and factory are located in Berthoud, CO.
