SIDELITES

Sidelites are tall, narrow windows on one or both sides of the door. These architectural elements add presence to the entry and introduce natural light, brightening the foyer and creating an open, welcoming atmosphere. 

Transoms

A transom is a window installed above the door, enhancing the entryway’s height and overall appearance. Available in square or arched designs, transoms can mirror the home’s architectural style or serve as a unique design element that adds distinction and visual appeal to the front of the home. 

Direct Sets

The term “direct set” comes from the window industry and refers to glass that is mounted directly into a wood or metal frame, creating a non-operable panel. In door designs, this term applies to the glass used in sidelites, transoms, or combined sidelite/transom units (known as “surrounds”). Sun Mountain manufactures direct set sidelites, transoms, and surrounds, with the glass securely mounted on all four sides in a wood frame, ensuring a clean, polished look and long-lasting durability.
