With its custom wirebrush machine newly placed into service, Sun Mountain now offers wirebrush distressing on its custom doors, mouldings, and flooring, including flush doors. This optional distress simulates the repeated wear and tear of years of exposure to wind and water, by removing the soft summer grain and leaving the hard winter grain of the wood. The look is best achieved on softwoods such as fir, pine, and cedar, although some hardwoods such as oak and alder are able to be wirebrushed as well.
