Craftsman-style homes, sometimes called “Bungalow” style, have roots in California. These homes are normally one-and-one-half stories, with exterior features such as exposed rafters and beams, and large porches with pedestal-type tapered pillars. Interior design includes a living area in the center of the home, with connecting rooms—such as kitchen, dining and bedrooms—flowing, without hallways, from the center. Wood doors and mouldings are simple and unpretentious. Flooring is often wide plank hardwood.
